Massachusetts Personal Injury Lawyers

It has been well documented that Massachusetts personal injury lawyers help clients from Boston to Pittsfield and from Springfield to New Bedford as well as in Worcester and other locations around the state. In order for Massachusetts personal injury lawyers to practice law effectively, they need to know what is currently happening in the legal system and also in the news concerning subjects such as faulty products since they may soon be involved in these cases as well.

Massachusetts Personal Injury Lawyers

Tort law refers to an individual receiving compensation for an injury they occurred due to negligence or misconduct, by fault of another individual or company. Product recalls can fall into the category of personal injury law as the company that has manufactured or sold a defective product will be held liable should anyone be injured while using that product.

Ian's Natural Foods, a food distribution company in Massachusetts, was involved in such a product recall and now, Massachusetts personal injury lawyers are making sure they are aware of any cases that may be connected to this recall.

Ian's Natural Foods is located in Revere, Massachusetts and has voluntarily recalled close to 13,000 pounds of frozen turkey products. The recall is in effect due to the fact that the product may contain non-fat milk. Non-fat milk is a known allergen and this ingredient is not listed on the label. The two products being recalled are "Ian's Popcorn Turkey Dogs" and "Ian's Batter Dipped Turkey Sausage Dogs."

The popcorn turkey dogs were made between April 9 and June 22, 2007 and were shipped to distribution centres in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, Texas and Washington. The batter dipped turkey sausage dogs were made on May 17, 2007 and were shipped to Canada.

The company found out about the problem after receiving consumer complaints although none of those complaints went so far as to have a need to hire a Massachusetts personal injury lawyer. There have been no reports of illness due to the product.

For a consumer to have a personal injury case, there must be signs of illness after consuming the product. Should a consumer become ill and file a personal injury lawsuit, they would be entitled to receive damages including medical bills that would compensate for the injuries that they incurred.
